Lowenbrau Porsche 911 GT3R

I absolutely love digging through cool race footage looking for liveries that time has forgotten. Just yesterday, I was watching a documentary called, “Bad Sport: Need for Weed”, about the true story of Randy Lanier, who won the 1984 IMSA Camel GT series as a privateer, and funded the race team by smuggling marijuana. It was especially notable because he beat the factory Porsche team, running the venerable 962, with racing legend Derek Bell driving. The Porsche 962 was running the Lowenbrau livery and when I saw it, it instantly turned on a light bulb in my head. The Lowenbrau 962 was ahead of its time and was really pretty dramatic compared to other liveries in the mid 80’s. The white and royal blue is always a classic color combination and when you couple that with the other iconic Lowenbrau colors, sky blue and gold, you land on a livery that looks good in any generation.
